We were away from home a couple of weekends back and when we got back monday morning the climber over the tree by the gate had burst into blooms.

When they bloomed near my son's school, I did little bit of search and found it to be Garlic Vine.

What a gorgeous vine. Those flowers are spectacular. I'm intrigued by the name, "garlic vine." Why is it called that?

apparently because the leaves, when crushed, smell of garlic! i havent gotten close enough to be able to do that though.
