Flora, travels and the incidental critter
Lovely climber. What is this flower?
When they bloomed near my son's school, I did little bit of search and found it to be Garlic Vine. Few links: http://www.slideshare.net/ipohteh/dazzling-garlic-vine http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Garlic%20Vine.html
thanks Prashanth! i've been wondering what this plant is - think i missed it on the flowers of india site.now i must find a way to get closer to the leaves and smell them! :)
What a gorgeous vine. Those flowers are spectacular. I'm intrigued by the name, "garlic vine." Why is it called that?
apparently because the leaves, when crushed, smell of garlic! i havent gotten close enough to be able to do that though.
Gorgeous photos of the garlic vine blooms. And the gulmohur in the background is spectacular!
