Pride of burma (amherstia nobilis)







The dried up new leaves seemed more dramatic than the chandelier like inflorescence of the flowers.

I think both the flowers and the young leaves are gorgeous...Wish we could grow such things here.

The caption says "dried out leaves" but like the Maniltoa of Queensland that's flush of new leaves limp and pink mostly lacking chlorophyll. I assume they use a pulvinus to pull themselves up into a more lateral position. Didn't know any other tree did this. Thanks.
