Somnathpur

A while back we headed out to the 13th century Hoysala temple in Somnathpur. The temple architecture was simply breathtaking - the exterior of the temple, the pillars within and the ceiling were carved in the most outstanding fashion. I spent many hours looking through...

The countryside around was rather picturesque as well- green fields full of birds - egrets i think.

egrets?

We also drove past Talkad, the sandy shores of the river Kaveri. Plenty of eucalyptus all through. A lovely day in all, despite the summer heat.

Glad to know you had a wonderful holiday. Lovely pictures! I just got back from the northern part of the country...the landscape was beautiful too!
