Chilli seedlings

Sometime in the middle of April, I scattered five seeds of the dried red chillies that I have been using in my cooking and have been watching the emergence of the seedlings with great interest and enthusiasm.
Im hoping the spring showers we've been having give way to sunshine as these little babies now need some light.

Here in the colonies, chili refers to not just "peppers" but to a stewy admixture of peppers and meat; a regional controversy rages about whether beans are allowed or not. Do not speak of pasta in Chili, which is a crime against nature.

oh, it all makes sense now. coming from the colony some liked to call 'the jewel in the crown' I'm used to chilli peppers cooked with just about every vegetable dish and the word 'beans' brought to mind only string beans.
